Cecil Victor Webb was born in Dalham in 1909 (Newmarket Q1-1909 3B:421) son of Elijah and Sarah WEBB (née COLLINS).

1911 census... Aged 2, he was in Dalham at his grandfather's house. Grandfather David WEBB [79] farm labourer born Wickhambrook; grandmother Sarah WEBB [82] born Lidgate, father Elijah WEBB [41] farm labourer born Cowlinge; mother Sarah [37] born Leeds.

In the 1939 register his widowed mother was at Malting End, Dalham with Alice N. WEBB, married, possibly his sister in law.

In Q3-1940 (Sevenoaks, Kent 2A:3975) he married Amelia Winifred WINTER (later living in Bury St Edmunds)


His Royal Artillery casualty card gives him as Dalham born and domiciled. His death was due to heat stroke (natural causes) at Ranchi, India

Originally buried in Ranchi Gel Cemetery, he was moved to the Military Cemetery in November 1947
